InstantDM does several things HookSend cannot, and the volume gap is the big one. InstantDM's own comparison table lists unlimited DMs on both paid plans, where every HookSend plan has a monthly ceiling. InstantDM also automates Facebook Page comments and Messenger, schedules Instagram posts with the automation attached, and ships iOS and Android apps. HookSend does none of those four.

How much does InstantDM cost a month?
Twelve dollars, if you pay monthly. InstantDM's pricing page on 30 September 2026 loaded with its Yearly tab pre-selected, showing $9.99 for Legend Pro and $24.99 for Trendsetter; the page's own markup gave the monthly rates as $12 and $29.99. The yearly label read "2 Months Free".
The distinction matters because $9.99 is the figure repeated across review sites, and it commits you to a year. InstantDM did not print the total annual amount charged on the page we read on 30 September 2026, so this page does not state one. HookSend by contrast bills monthly with no annual commitment: Starter is $3.50 a month (₹99 in India) and Pro is $9 a month (₹249 in India), and a HookSend plan does not auto-renew, so it ends on its date unless you choose to continue.
Does InstantDM have a free plan?
Partly, and where you look decides the answer. InstantDM's home page on 30 September 2026 advertised "Free plan - 500 Credits / Month" under its sign-up button. Its pricing page showed only Legend Pro and Trendsetter, with the free plan card present in the page source but commented out.
A reader going straight to InstantDM's pricing page would therefore conclude there is no free plan, and a reader landing on the home page would conclude there is one of 500 credits a month. Both readings come off InstantDM's own pages on 30 September 2026, the same day. HookSend's Free plan is $0 (₹0 in India) for 2,500 DMs a month on 1 Instagram account and 3 campaigns, appears on the pricing page, takes no card and has no end date.
Does InstantDM answer DMs from uploaded documents?
No, on the pages we read. InstantDM's AI agent page on 30 September 2026 set the agent up through a form — what you sell, how you qualify leads, your tone, when to follow up — in a step it describes as taking five minutes. No file upload appeared, and the word PDF appeared on none of the InstantDM pages we read.
The difference shows up on the questions a typed description cannot cover. A price list with sixty items, a refund policy with conditions, or a course syllabus is content, not configuration, and a typed summary of it will answer confidently and wrongly. HookSend's knowledge bases take the document itself and answer from it, on Growth at $25 a month (₹899 in India) with 3 knowledge bases and Agency at $40 a month (₹1,599 in India) with 10. Where a typed description is genuinely enough, InstantDM is the cheaper way to get one, at the $12 a month we read on 30 September 2026.
Does HookSend give unlimited DMs like InstantDM?
No. Every HookSend plan has a monthly DM ceiling, from 2,500 on Free to 150,000 on Agency. InstantDM's comparison table on 30 September 2026 listed unlimited DMs on Legend Pro, paced at 750 an hour, and "Truly Unlimited" on Trendsetter. InstantDM wins this outright.
Worth knowing is that neither tool can actually send without limit, because Meta sets a ceiling neither controls: InstantDM's own pricing page explains that Meta allows roughly 200 API calls an hour per active user, pooled across an app, and that InstantDM paces sends against it. HookSend paces the same way for the same reason. So the practical difference is billing rather than throughput — HookSend charges a plan and counts DMs against it, and InstantDM charges a plan and does not count.
Is InstantDM approved by Meta?
Yes, in its own words, though the words differ from ours. InstantDM's pages on 30 September 2026 called it an Official Meta Business Partner, verified by Meta and built on the official Instagram Graph API, with no browser bots and no password sharing. The phrase "Meta Tech Provider" appeared on no InstantDM page we read.
HookSend is an approved Meta Tech Provider, which is the status Meta grants an app whose permissions it has reviewed. Meta Business Partner is a separate programme, and this page does not rank one above the other because we did not audit either. What matters for account safety is the same for both tools: each connects through Meta's own OAuth screen rather than asking for an Instagram password, and Meta's rules bind both equally — one private reply per comment, a 24-hour window from the person's last message, and a professional Instagram account.
Can InstantDM be run from Claude or ChatGPT?
Yes, and so can HookSend. InstantDM's MCP page on 30 September 2026 published a hosted server with 22 tools, reading free and each send costing a credit, including send_dm and reply_to_comment. HookSend's MCP connector offers 63 tools and also sends.
Both connectors write rather than only report, so no honest comparison claims HookSend is the only Instagram MCP server that can send a DM. The lists differ in shape: InstantDM's covers publishing posts and Facebook comment replies, which HookSend's does not, and HookSend's covers building DM flows, writing Comment Guard rules and managing knowledge bases, which InstantDM's did not list. Both gate it behind payment — HookSend on the 15 day trial and every paid plan but not Free, and InstantDM's pricing table restricted API access to Trendsetter.

Every InstantDM figure above came off InstantDM’s own public pages. The list below is what those pages did not answer, so no sentence on this page states it either. Where one of these matters to your decision, InstantDM is the only reliable source for it.
- Which country InstantDM operates from. Its footer names REPLBETTER APP TECHNOLOGIES PRIVATE LIMITED on every page, and no page we read printed an address, a country or a company registration number, so this page names none.
- How many Instagram accounts one InstantDM plan or bill covers. No account-count figure appeared on its home, pricing, features, AI agent or MCP pages, and team collaboration was listed as coming soon.
- Whether InstantDM's flow builder can place an AI step inside a flow. InstantDM advertises a visual flow builder and a separate AI agent, lists AI automations as coming soon, and never states that an AI node can sit as a step in a flow.
- The total annual amount InstantDM charges on yearly billing. The yearly tab was labelled 2 Months Free and showed a monthly equivalent, and the annual total was not printed on the page.
- Whether InstantDM's free plan can still be selected. The plan is advertised on its home page and commented out of its pricing page, and only InstantDM can say which is current.
