Is HookSend's free plan the same as LinkDM's?
No, and HookSend's is larger. LinkDM's pricing page on 30 September 2026 offered one Instagram account and 1,000 DMs a month at $0, and HookSend's Free plan is $0 (₹0 in India) for 2,500 DMs a month on 1 Instagram account and 3 campaigns. Neither asks for a card.
The difference is what each one bundles. LinkDM's free tier includes Facebook automations, which HookSend's does not, and excludes its Live trigger, Rewind, the follow gate and its overflow queue. HookSend's free tier includes comment-to-DM and the creator storefront, and excludes story replies, the follow gate, product carousels, lead capture, AI answers, DM flows and the MCP connector. HookSend also gives every new workspace 15 days of every feature and 50,000 DMs before the Free plan begins.
Does LinkDM have AI?
No, on every page we read on 30 September 2026. LinkDM's pricing comparison table has no AI row, its help centre has no AI category, and its own on-site search returned no results for AI, artificial intelligence or MCP. LinkDM is a rule-based tool: keywords in, scheduled messages out.
The strongest evidence is not the absence of marketing but LinkDM's own data processing addendum, which lists its subprocessors as Amazon Web Services, MongoDB, Twilio, Brevo and Sentry. A product sending text to a language model names that vendor in such a list. LinkDM's one page mentioning AI is a warning that Meta withholds live comment signals from accounts publishing AI-generated content. HookSend by contrast answers DMs from documents you upload, routes flows with an AI step and moderates comments with AI.
How far back can LinkDM message people who already commented?
Seven days, and LinkDM publishes the figure plainly. Its Rewind help page on 30 September 2026 described sending DMs to comments "less than 7 days old", excluding comments from ads, comments from sponsored collaboration posts and comments already answered. Rewind is a Pro feature and its DMs count against the monthly allowance.
Seven days is Instagram's ceiling rather than LinkDM's choice, which is why HookSend's equivalent stops in the same place: Meta refuses a private reply to a comment older than seven days, whatever tool asks. HookSend's version is off by default on every campaign, because a switch that came on by itself would start messaging people who commented days ago without anyone deciding to. LinkDM's Rewind is reusable and also works on Facebook, which HookSend cannot do at all.
Is LinkDM or HookSend cheaper for ten Instagram accounts?
HookSend, on the figures both published on 30 September 2026. HookSend's Agency plan covers 10 Instagram accounts and 150,000 DMs for $40 a month (₹1,599 in India). LinkDM's Platinum+ covers 10 accounts and 300,000 DMs at $99 a month or $832 a year.
LinkDM gives twice the DMs at the top, so the comparison depends on volume rather than price alone. An agency sending under 150,000 DMs a month pays less on HookSend and gets AI answers, knowledge bases and the MCP connector with it. An agency past that ceiling can buy more DMs on HookSend, or take LinkDM's larger bundle plus its non-expiring credit packs, which ran from $5 for 1,000 DMs to $350 for a million and pooled across every connected account on 30 September 2026. Both firms can change a price tomorrow.
Is LinkDM approved by Meta?
Yes, in its own words, which differ from ours. LinkDM's pages on 30 September 2026 called it a badged Meta Business Partner, certified since 2021, using the official Instagram APIs exclusively. The phrase "Meta Tech Provider" appeared nowhere on LinkDM's domain, and this page does not rank one label above the other.
HookSend is an approved Meta Tech Provider, the status Meta grants an app whose permissions it has reviewed, and we audited neither company's standing beyond reading what each publishes. For account safety the answer is the same either way: both tools connect through Meta's own screens rather than asking for an Instagram password. Meta's rules bind both equally — one private reply per comment, a message only within 24 hours of the person's last message, no private reply after seven days, and a professional Instagram account.
Can LinkDM be operated from Claude or ChatGPT?
No, on the pages we read. LinkDM's on-site search returned no results for MCP or MCP server on 30 September 2026, its only integration article was a Zapier page with a title and no body, and a customer API appeared only as an undocumented line under its Enterprise tier.
HookSend publishes an MCP connector of 63 tools, on the 15 day trial and every paid plan but not the Free plan, which builds DM flows from a description, creates campaigns, writes moderation rules and sends a reply from the inbox. Worth saying plainly: HookSend is not the only Instagram tool with an MCP server — Inrō, InstantDM and Zorcha all publish one, and the comparison pages for those three say so. LinkDM is simply not among them on the evidence of its own site.

- Whether LinkDM's free plan expires. LinkDM presents it as a permanent tier with no card required and never states in writing that it does not expire, so this page makes no claim.
- Whether LinkDM's DM allowances are per account or per workspace. Its monthly cards and comparison table read "per month", while its yearly cards, home page and Pro page read "per account / per month", and LinkDM publishes both wordings.
- Which LinkDM tier includes the DM overflow queue and Slow Down Mode. Its help centre calls the queue a Pro feature, and its pricing table marks both as Platinum+ only, on the same day.
- Whether LinkDM supports Ads click-to-DM as an ad destination. What its pages document is auto-replying to comments on ads the account owner ran, and it states that Meta gives it no engagement signals from ads run by a third-party advertiser.
- What LinkDM's Zapier integration can do. The only article in its API section was a page with a title and no body, and its Enterprise API is named with no documentation, endpoints or price.
